My Java Bluetooth Master's thesis is now complete and available for download: klings_jabwt_master_thesis.pdf.
I did my thesis work at the University of Bergen, Department of Informatics.
My supervisor was Professor K. J. Hole. See http://www.kjhole.com for more information about his courses.
I was part of a new research group, the NoWires group. See http://www.nowires.org for details.
The thesis gives an overview of the technologies involved in Java Bluetooth application development. Students and J2ME developers can use the thesis as a starting point for developing Java Bluetooth applications and to study the involved technologies. Code samples are included and explained for all important Bluetooth operations: device discovery, service discovery, service creation, communication and service record usage.
Any comments or feedback on the thesis are welcome. Hopefully it can be of use for Java Bluetooth developers. This website should be considered a short version
of my thesis. If you find any information on these webpages somewhat unclear, you should consult the complete Master's thesis which is much more detailed.
I hope to keep this website up to date
in the future. However, I now have a job which does not have anything to do with Java and Bluetooth so I may not be able to update my webpages as frequently
as I would wish. Time will show.
