Rococosoft is the market leader in JABWT software at this time. Their products are much more mature than the alternatives. They have different tools available, I will describe two of them in this document.
The Rococo Impronto Simulator enables you to simulate Bluetooth communication between different devices. Both J2SE and J2ME Bluetooth
applications are supported. Emulated devices show up in a nice graphic window and links between devices are visualized. The
simulator supports different discovery and security modes for the virtual Bluetooth devices. You can visualize a complete
piconet with this software.
We have bought licenses for the Rococo simulator and use it when we develop Java/Bluetooth applications.
The Impronto developer kit for Linux interacts with the Bluez Bluetooth stack. This enables Bluetooth connections for J2SE
programs under Linux. Rococo recently released an updated version of the developer kit with support for J2ME. I will test
this release as soon as possible.
Impronto developer kit for Linux is free for non-commercial use. Se Rococosoft site for more information.
You will find more information about the simulator and developer kit at the Rococo website:
